Sample Society ~ June 2013

I recently received my first Sample Society subscription box, and I was pleasantly surprised! This subscription service is a little bit more expensive than Ipsy ($10.75/month for me because I live in a state where they conduct business) and Birchbox ($10/month). Sample Society is $15 a month, including shipping + tax, so it comes out to $16.13 a month for me.

Sample Society subscription boxes are sold on, a website that sells make-up, skin care, bath & body, fragrance, as well as, numerous other grooming & personal care products for men & women.

The samples are hand-picked by the staff of Allure Magazine.  In addition to your samples, you also receive a $15 off $50 code to be used toward any full size item(s) that is being sampled during that month, and a mini magazine filled with beauty tips & news from the editors of Allure Magazine.

As you can see from the picture above, Sample Society sends decent sized samples. I really loved everything I received in my box this month, where as, here I said, that I was trading 2 of my 4 Birchbox samples this month, because I didn't care for them.

When the box comes in the mail, it looks like this.

A nice and sturdy box inside of a box.

Topics in this issue include, We love: Coral Blush, Summer Facial Blush 101, The 5 Best Close Shave Secrets, How to Make Wet Hair Look Good and Steal this Look: Scarved Updos at Dolce & Gabbana

Murad Age Reform Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Eye Moisture. Full Size $62 (Sample Value $15.12)

B. Kamins Sun Defense SPF 30. Full Size $36 (Sample Value $4.50)

Stila Cosmetics Lip Glaze in Kitten. Full Size $22 (Sample Value $14.00)

Philosophy Hope in a Jar. Full Size $40 (Sample Value $ 4.00)

Illume Desert Tulip Tin (Notes of Red Tulip, Lily, Raspberry & Musk.) Full Size $22 (Sample Value $2.81)

The retail value for this box is $40.43, so you spend a little more, but you get a little more!

Please come back and see what I receive in my next Sample Society Box!

Oh, you got the B Kamin's SPF 30. Lucky girlie! I've been in love with the brand since I got her oil free makeup remover from Sample Society. My box had teeth whitening sticks instead.

I'm glad to hear that you recommend this brand! I have a ton of samples of SPF products from the Sephora Sun Safety Kit, so when I saw it, I was thinking that I didn't really need more sunscreen! I'll give it a try before the others, since you say it's great! Thanks!
