The Goodies Co. ~ Goodies is Going Green this Month ~ July 2013

The Goodies Co. has a new, greener look this month. Their boxes are normally blue! You can see my post here, if you would like to take a look at the good ole' blue box.

The reason for the "greener" look this month, is to remind it's subscribers that Goodies Co. boxes and packing materials are made of 100% recycled materials. Great job Goodies Co.!

In other news, The Goodies Co. has just launched a Kid's Box, with the first shipment due to subscriber's in August! It is also $7 a month! I'll post my first impressions, after I receive my first box!

Okay, let's take a look at what I received in my Goodies Co. box this month!

16.9 fl oz. Glaceau Sparkling Zero Calorie Fruit Water in Black Raspberry ~ Sample Value $1.15

I'm currently on the Weight Watchers program, so I'm excited to see a sparkling zero calorie "vitamin water" in my box. I'll be enjoying this with my dinner this evening.

Contains vitamins B6 & B12, Magnesium, Zinc & Green Tea Extract.

Other flavors include, Strawberry Kiwi, Lemon-Lime, Orange Mango & Watermelon Punch.

The Better Chip in Fresh Corn with Sea Salt ~ Sample Value $.93

These corn chips look delicious! I'm so excited to see healthier brands this month, since we received Pringles & Lay's last month.

Other flavors include, Sweet Onion with White Cheddar, Red Pepper with Salsa Fresca, Jalapeno with Sea Salt, and Spinach & Kale with Sea Salt.

Crunchmaster Multi-Seed Crackers ~ Sample Value $.84

This is a very small sample size, but they still look tasty! They are all natural & 100% whole grain. They contain Sesame Seeds, Quinoa Seeds, Flax Seeds & Amaranth Seeds.

Cosmos Creations in Caramel ~ Sample Value $.69

Other flavors include, Cinnamon Crunch, Salted Caramel & Sea Salt and Butter.

Heavenly morsels of baked corn flavored with a caramel coating. These sound interesting! I can't wait to give them a try!

Gimbal's Cherry Lovers Candies ~ Sample Value $1.29

These are made with Real Cherry Juice, which sounds great! They are also shaped like cute, little hearts.

Unfortunately, they are full of artificial dyes, including Red #40. My children will not be eating these.

Flavors include, Chocolate Cherry, Cherry Daiquiri, Bing Cherry, Kiwi Cherry, Cherry Cheesecake, Black Cherry, Wild Cherry, Cherry Vanilla & Cherry Cola.

My bag only contained 7 of the nine flavors. Boo!

The retail value of my Goodies Co. box is $ 4.90.

Ugh! I really think that the items we receive should equal at least $7. However, as you can tell from my photos, Goodies Co., does a really nice job with their packaging, providing a very sturdy box. With the fact that they are sending beverages, this box probably cost $7, if not more just to ship. So, I guess I'll give them a little leeway there.

Last month's box was over $9, and May's box was over $19! I'm keeping my fingers crossed, that the Goodies Co. Kids Box, and next month's Taster's Box, make up for a low value month of July box.

The Goodies Co. ~ June 2013

My Goodies Co. box was the last of my food subscription boxes to come this month. Overall, I wasn't too impressed. My favorite item in the box was the Duchy Originals Highland All Butter Shortbread.

All of the other items, were just "okay" with the exception of the seaweed, which I tasted while in my son's occupational therapy session, and then passed off to my hubby who enjoys "fishy" foods.

I was pretty disappointed to see the Pringles Stix & Lays Stax in there. The main reason I sign up for food subscription services, is to discover new brands I've never heard of. I don't think Pringles or Lays need any more publicity to garner new salty snack lovers. If you haven't heard of Pringles or Lays, you must have been living under a rock or something! I need to keep in mind the Goodies boxes are curated by Walmart, so I guess I can expect a fair amount of "mainstream" snacks. My kids did enjoy these though.

gimMe All Natural Crumbles Roasted Seaweed Snacks in Cheddar Cheese.

Yuck! Passed these on to my hubby.

Pringles Cheese Stix

These tasted like Goldfish Crackers, with a light dusting of cheese powder.

Pringles Stix also come in Pizza & Honey Mustard.

These are a "Taster's Box Exclusive," which means subscribers get this item in their box, but they are unavailable to purchase in the Goodies online marketplace. If you want to purchase one of these items, you need to find another retailer( like Walmart) to purchase it.

Lays Stax Adobadas

These are basically tomato flavored chips. These are okay, but I much prefer BBQ or Sour Cream & Onion!

These were also a "Taster's Box Exclusive."

While I didn't feel sleepy after drinking it, I did sleep through the night, whereas, I had been walking in the middle of the night, the previous two nights.

It tasted pretty gross, too!

Smooch Lip Smackingly Good Apple, Raspberry & Peach Fruit Snack

This is the pretty standard pureed fruit pouch, with the addition of chia seeds. My 5 year old daughter enjoyed this!

Duchy Originals from Waitrose Highland All Butter Shortbread

The best item in the box! Crispy & buttery. I wish I had saved these to eat, while drinking a cup of tea.

2 Cookies, Retail Value $ ? These are normally sold in a larger box for $5.99.

The retail value without the cookies is $9.09. So I definitely got my money's worth, and remember the shipping is free!

The Best $7 I Ever Spent ~ The Goodies Co.

How many of you have jumped on the subscription box band wagon yet? I recently went crazy and signed up for 5 different subscription box services, and I'm on the waiting list for a sixth! As those boxes trickle in, I'll share with you all the amazing products I receive!

I think this particular box, from The Goodies Co., is an amazing value! I first learned about The Goodies Co. on Facebook. There was an ad in the side bar of my Facebook news feed, where I clicked and requested an invite.
