Spring Fever Influenster Vox Box ~ #SpringVoxBox

A few days ago, I received my first ever Influenster Vox Box!  What is a Vox Box, you say?

A Vox Box is a box, filled with full size products for you to try and review. You qualify to receive a Vox Box, by submitting an online survey, that is sent to you by Influenster. Influenster will then offer you their current Vox Box, if they feel you're the right "match" for the target demographic they are trying to reach. You are sent the Vox Box free of charge!

I've only had my Influenster account for a couple of months, so I feel super lucky that I was selected!

In addition to qualifying for the survey, they are looking for people with certain areas of influence, such as beauty gurus, tech savvy individuals, moms, people who consider themselves eco friendly, etc. You can earn badges on Influenster, by answering surveys and reviewing products related to certain categories. Influenster is also looking for people engaged in social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, You Tube, etc.

My Spring Fever Vox Box was packed with goodies from NYC, Secret, Schwarzkopf, Tastykake & Impress! I also got a $5.00 off coupon for any Schwarzkopf Professional Osis+ purchase at Ulta Exp. 6-30-13.

NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm (Retail Value $2.99)

What's Good at the 99 Cent Only Store this Week? 5-29-13

I went on my 99 Cent Only Shop today, but to be honest, there was nothing great. The picture above is a collective haul from 2 stores. I spent exactly $3.00 at each store. I think this is an all time low for me. Normally, I'd be super excited about the milk, however it's fat free, and we usually drink 2%, so I didn't stock up, but did purchase two.

The pictures below, are other things of interest, that I didn't buy. And, the very last picture is from a trip I made on Saturday, after my son attended a birthday party. Both of my kids LOVED the Earth's Best Strawberry Cereal Bars, I got last week. I had to go back and buy 4 more boxes!

Pic Above:

6 pound Watermelon
Horizon Organic Fat Free Milk with DHA Omega 3 Exp. 6-9-13
International Delight Iced Coffee in Caramel Macchiato Exp. 6-16-13
1 pound Sweet Mini Peppers
3 oz. Armour Pepperoni Exp. 10-13-13

Nail Strips

2 oz. Mrs Mays Naturals Cran Tropical Crunch Exp. 8-31-13

My First Ever Birchbox ~ May 2013

I told you in a previous post, that I'm awaiting several subscription boxes, after deciding to jump on the subscription box bandwagon! What is more fun, then sending yourself gifts each month! It's like being able to celebrate your birthday EVERY month! I love getting surprises in the mail.....On the other hand, it's very hard for me to resist watching spoilers of what comes in each month's box, on You Tube. From now on, I'm going to try to not watch any spoilers, until I receive my box. Think I can do it,lol? Probably not, but I'm going to give it a try.

I recently subscribed to Birchbox, which is a subscription box service that sends you 4-5 deluxe beauty and/or lifestyle samples for $10 a month. If you like a product, you can then go the the Birchbox website, and purchase the full size item.

Another great thing about Birchbox,is that you can review each sample in your box, and in turn you are rewarded points! You receive 10 points per review, and for every 100 points your earn, you get a $10 credit to spend in the Birchbox shop!

Birchbox sends out several different types of boxes, which are based on a beauty profile you fill out once you become a member. It is very important to complete your beauty profile, so they're not sending you hair products for curly hair, when you have straight hair, for example.

The links above are my referral links, and I would love it if you would please use one, if you decide to sign up for Birchbox yourselves! Thank you!

Here are the contents to the May 2013 Birchbox!

This month's theme is Beauty Diaries.

My first look at the May 2013 Birchbox.

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle Leave-In Conditioner (Full Size $21.95 for 8 oz.)

Instant detangler, thermal protector, UV protector, seals cuticles, smooths hair, locks in color, adds shine, weightless, non-greasy, conditions, for all hair types, use daily.

I was so happy to get this product, because I've been searching for a long time for a good detangler for my daughter's hair. The verdict is still out, on whether or not this is the one. Beauty Protector did detangle my daughter's hair to a degree, and made it smooth & shiny. It also smells great, like perfume for your hair.

Fusion Beauty Lip Fusion Infatuation Lip Fattener (Full size $29.00)

This product is suppose to make your lips look fuller, 3-5 minutes after it is applied. And, it claims your lips will look fuller in general, after 28 days of daily use.

I didn't see any dramatic changes after 3-5 minutes, but I did like this product overall. It made my lips feel cool & tingly, and provided my lips with a glossy shine. The color I received was La Lip Jolie.

LAFACE Laboratories PROTEGER Age Defying Primer (Full Sing Size $65 for 2 oz.)

This unscented, skin perfecting primer delivers serious moisture and helps foundation stay put.

I haven't tried this product yet, but I plan to tomorrow. I tried the Supergoop CC Cream (below) and wasn't that happy with the results, so I'm going to try this primer under the Supergoop CC cream to see if that helps things.

Supergoop! CC Cream Daily Correct Broad Spectrum SPF 35 Sunscreen
(Full Size $32.00 for 1.6 fl oz.)

I've very new to the idea of wearing foundation. Normally, I just wear a loose mineral powder. I felt that when I was wearing this foundation, my pores were more visible, and that seems to defeat the purpose of "correcting." I'm going to try this product with the LAFACE Primer, and see if that makes a difference. Supergoop CC cream is suppose to be a primer and foundation in one, so I'm not sure if using the additional primer will do anything, lol.

The last item I received is the 12 ct. Matchbox Itty Bitty Files Tweerman Emery Boards
(Full Size $5.00)

These are adorable, and I'm glad I got them because my daughter has very soft nails, and they tear easily. I currently have acrylic nails, so I won't be using them.

As you can see, this box is well worth the $10. I hope to find new products I love over the next few months, through my various subscription boxes! Stay tuned for more un-boxing posts!

2013 Sephora Sun Safety Kit Unboxing

Thanks to the blog My Subscription Addiction, I was alerted to the fact that Sephora had released their 2013 Sun Safety Kit. This kit sold out in a matter of days online, however, you may still be able to find one at your local Sephora store. There are also less expensive versions being sold exclusively at JcPenny locations, that have Sephora counters.  The Sephora version is $30 ($210 retail value) and the JcPenny version is $26 ($159 retail value.) And, $20 of the $30 I paid, goes to The Skin Cancer Foundation as a donation! How cool is that?!

I had mentioned in my post here, how I have been recently committed to taking my skin care more seriously, since I'm turning 35 next year. I thought this kit was an amazing value and a great way to get to try a variety of high end products, in the hopes of finding a product I love!

The 19 products come in a clear Sephora make-up bag. It's shiny gold, with pink trim and a shiny gold Sephora zipper pull.

I chose Benefit The POREfessional Pore Minimizing Balm, Philosophy Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-Aging Eye Repair and Olehenriksen Oil Free Brightening Moisturizer.

I also received the Amore Pacific Moisture Bound Rejuvenating deluxe sample set for entering code AMOREFF at checkout. This set contains Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Cream, Natural Protector SPF 30/PA+++ and Line Modifier Intensive Wrinkle Treatment.

And, to my complete surprise, I received this cool little booklet that had small samples of spring fragrances including Prada, No. 9's I Love New York, Versace Bright Crystal, Philosophy Amazing Grace and Marc Jacobs Daisy.

This concludes my AMAZING purchase from Sephora! If you can't find the Sephora 2013 Sun Safety Kit at your local Sephora store, make a mental note that these kits are released Mid-May each year! I'm sure you won't want to miss the 2014 kit!
